Dr. Firouz Naderi

Dr. Firouz Naderi

Director for Solar System Exploration, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory

Dr. Naderi is the director for the Solar System Exploration Directorate at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Formerly, he was the associate director for Project Formulation and Strategy (2005-2011) providing oversight of new business acquisition and strategic planning at JPL. Prior to that, he was the head of the Mars Exploration Program (2000-2005) a span of time that included the successful launch of Mars Odyssey, landing of the Mars Exploration Rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, and the development of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.

Preethi Madhu is Head of Consulting Services India at ThoughtWorks. In her current position, she is responsible for the Consulting Services business in India. To this end, she is involved in creating and sustaining the consulting business for ThoughtWorks India, in areas pertaining to building agility within IT Organizations and teams. This involves offerings around agile/lean process adoption and delivery process optimization.
Preethi holds close to 13 years experience across both delivery and coaching assignments, across a wide range of industries and domains. She has also been involved in many distributed projects as a BA and then as a Project Manager. Prior to joining ThoughtWorks, Preethi has held positions with Visual Web Solutions, E&Y and KPMG through her tenure.
She holds a Masters in Business Management from Symbiosis Center for Management & HRD, Pune and a Bachelors Degree in Science from Bangalore University.


Umar Akhter

Umar Akhter

Umar Akhter started his software journey 15 years ago of which the last decade has been with ThoughtWorks.
Umar has been responsible for delivering complex distributed agile programs. He has played the role of Project/Program manager on multiple projects couple of which had Agile teams of close to 200 people, distributed across multiple cities and time zones. Umar also comes with a developer background with rich hands on experience on the engineering aspects of Agile. He has been an Agile Coach on many delivery projects. He is also an experienced trainer and has worked in helping client organizations in their Agile adoption initiatives.
He currently dons the role of the General Manager of ThoughtWorks Singapore.
Umar is also an entrepreneur and has build a successful retail business in India primarily based on the principles of lean startup.
